Guide to setting up posting to a Twitter Account

You can now post news and results from your League Republic site to a Twitter account. You can also post to a Facebook page, click here to see our guide to setting up posting to a Facebook Page.

Setting up your LeagueRepublic site to post to Twitter is quick and easy, please follow these steps.

STEP 1

When signed in to LeagueRepublic go to the Twitter Settings page:

In League Admin click on SITE --> SETTINGS --> TWITTER SETTINGS

Club Twitter Posting Coming Soon

STEP 2

In this page you will see a message stating that you need to authorise LeagueRepublic to access your Twitter account. To link a Twitter account to your LeagueRepublic site you need to enter a PIN code that Twitter will generate for you.

To do this click on the link 'Get PIN code', this will open a new window or tab in your web browser with the Twitter webpage and ask you to sign in if you are not already signed in to Twitter. Enter your username/email and password and then click 'Authorise app'.

STEP 3

You will then see a PIN on the screen, copy this number and go back to your LeagueRepublic window or tab in your web browser.

Now back on your LeagueRepublic Twitter Settings page, enter the PIN from twitter into the empty Twitter Pin Code field. Then click on the Update button at the bottom of the page.

The page will then refresh and you will be able to see the account name that has been linked, who linked the Twitter account and on what date. You will also see the Posting Options available to you and the Results Percentage settings if you are using League Admin.

News will now be posted to the Twitter account 10 minutes after it is created on your LeagueRepublic site, this will give you time to add any images or amend the report before it is posted.

Stop A News Article From Posting To Twitter

If you do not want a particular news report to be posted to your Twitter account then when you are creating it you need to check the box "Do not post to Social Media" in the Social Options. The report will not be posted to Twitter when this is selected.

Result Summary Posting For League Websites

Leagues can also send one Twitter post per match date when a specified percentage of results are in and approved. If you choose to post to a Twitter account when 90% of results are in and there are 20 matches on a date, we will automatically post a message to a Twitter account saying that 18 of the 20 results are in when this happens. This will link back to your League's results page on your site.
